Password Issues Update

We’ve made an additional update with the password system that will hopefully fix things for the remaining users still experiencing issues (as of 12/28/2007 10 pm Greenwich).

Please, Please ( I do apologize for asking) try to login one more time.  :)

Let me know if you are still experiencing issues accessing your account.

Login Fixed - Requires New Password

Hi Everyone,

I have some good news and some news of the other persuasion.  Our site underwent a database upgrade over the holidays.  The result is that our passwords have a higher level of encryption.

The issue is that ALL old passwords are no longer any good and EVERY :(  user must request a new password.  Once you get your new password, please reset your password to a new password right away and you should be in good shape!

Login Under Construction

We are currently working to repair an issue that is preventing some users from logging into their accounts.  Sometime over the last few days a few users have reported difficulty logging in and an inability to reset their passwords.  We are aware of the issue and working to resolve it rapidly.

BlogWorld in Vegas

For those of you attending BlogWorld in Las Vegas this week, please have fun, be safe, and have fun.

I will be out here from today until Sunday and hope to meet up with many of you.  We are forging many great relationships, which means more work, more very high paying work, and more fun for our bloggers.

It also means that we can deliver even more useful tools and value to our advertisers.

Plus, our programmers are out here in Vegas so we are doing some meetings and catching up on several of the suggestions and recommendations that all of our stakeholders have recently provided.

Payments Today

A batch of payments were sent out today.  In that batch, 4 payments went to preferred email accounts instead of paypal email accounts.  We had to cancel those 4 payments and reissue them to the correct paypal email accounts.

The corrected payments went out within 10 minutes of the error.

We sincerely apologize for any confusion or stress this issue may have caused.  Please feel free to contact us, if you have any questions or further difficulties.

PayPal is showing that all of the payments were successfully and correctly received at this time.

Updated Code Example Correction with LinkyLoveArmy Referral code

WordPress.com blogs - Domain Rentals

WordPress.com blogs No Longer Accepted

The LinkyLoveArmy will no longer accept blogs into our program that are hosted on free domains through WordPress.com.

Ergo  http://freedomain.wordpress.com

The WordPress organization will delete your blog and all of your writing if you utilize their services and couple it with any form of advertising, including ours.  We do not want you to lose your blogs and your writing, so let’s keep things simple and safe and go elsewhere.

Domain Rental Program

In addition to using free domains at places like www.blogger.com we are establishing a hosted domain rental program.  If you can not afford your own domain or host, or do not have the technical skills to set one up (and we do highly encourage it, but its not for everyone), we will rent some bloggers a domain or sub domain on a hosted account.

This rental program will not require any money up front, and bloggers will only be charged if they do not write regularly on the blog they rent.

We will have more information on this program shortly.

We will be accepting offers from existing domain owners, looking to rent out sub domains as well as offering bloggers with rental options to start working a real domain name at higher revenue levels.

Does the LinkyLoveArmy Charge Bloggers for Anything? Never!

Several times per week I receive a variation of the question below on the phone or via email:

    • Do you charge bloggers for this service?
    • Do you charge a subscription fee to bloggers to included in the LinkyLoveArmy?

As I received this question again last night, I realized that I was over due to write on the blog about it, although I think this is buried in the forum somewhere.

Many people think that since we are promoting bloggers and sending them lots of incoming links, that we might charge bloggers for that service.  Since we launched our referral commission program last month, many people have also asked if we charge something like a subscription fee to join as well.

The answer to both questions is  a loud no!  :)

We never charge bloggers.  We want to PAY bloggers to blog, not charge bloggers to be in our program or anything like that.

Cash Rich Industry

This is a cash rich industry, where companies are expected to pay in advance for their advertising and where we strive to pay our bloggers within 7 days of completing missions.  We don’t even want your interest!

Truth be told, we don’t need bloggers money!

Challenge to Bloggers and to the Blogging Industry

Our biggest challenge is tailoring missions in ways that bloggers will accept them and do a great job writing creatively about them.  Too many bloggers these days are writing articles that are starting to look and read in a spammy fashion.

Our goal is to change the industry and swing it back to being creative again.  In the spirit of Brewster’s Millions (Richard Pryor movie from the 80’s~He’s from my hometown.)  We very happily and politely want to pay bloggers to blog, but blog well.  That takes practices and it takes effort and that effort in a capitalist economy should be rewarded with money.

So to wrap things up, we do not charge bloggers anything.

We do not charge a subscription fee of any kind.  (No fees at all)

We do want bloggers to blog better.

Creativity, Creativity, Creativity, Bloggers Have Creativity

We work everyday trying to find ways to make the missions more exciting, but the purpose for this is not to entice bloggers to write spam, but instead to find the creative direction to take an article that will make that article stand out on their blog and be a great article.  If it doesn’t fit, it doesn’t fit, BUT  I’d challenge all bloggers to look at each mission and try and figure out how to get creative with that mission.

Many bloggers are not the best journalists.  That is a compliment in many ways as journalism these days is spammier than most of the worst blogs on the internet.  IMHO bloggers provide the most benefit when they are being creative.  I do believe that 2 brains are better than 1, that 5 perspectives are better than 2, and that an army of bloggers can move continents.

Bloggers have the potential to contextualize information, feelings, events, perceptions, issues, reality, and much more.  Putting information through a creative subjective filter is the value that bloggers add to the internet.  We do not have to try and emulate journalists and report “What” but we can deep dive all day long into the “Why” the “How” The “What happened when I tried it” and more.

We can speak to everyday people, because we are everyday people.  We are close to the action, and we have thousands of examples to talk about, situations to explore, what ifs to write about and more.

If you Have a Perspective on Something, Write on it

So if you have a Perspective on Something, write on it.  Find a creative outlet for your perspective.  Use that outlet to develop your writing skills, to develop your creative spirit, and while you are at it, We’ll happily pay you and help you move your online blogging business into the black!

Correction with LinkyLoveArmy Referral code

If you are working to provide a referral link to the LinkyLoveArmy, please insure that your link directs traffic to our Blogger subdomain at bloggers.linkylovearmy.com

Your code should look something like this if you use an image:

<a href=”http://bloggers.linkylovearmy.com/?id=#######”><img src=”http://www.YOURSITE.COM/FOLDER-WITH-YOUR-IMAGES/LLA-170w.jpg” alt=”linkylovearmy 170w” width=”513″ height=”184″ /></a>

The code that generates in our system is correct, but these instructions on the referral code generation page had a slight error and for those bloggers that followed the manual directions, your actual clickable link may have incorrectly directed bloggers to www.linkylovearmy.com instead of http://bloggers.linkylovearmy.com

Please login and double check your code today.  If you want us to check out your links, please feel free to email me and I will be happy to assist!

Best Regards,

Colonel Love

EcomXpo Virtual (all online) Trade show and Job Fair

For two years now, I have been attending the EcomXpo Virtual Trade Show for ecommerce, emarketing, and much more.  This year they are adding a job fair component to the show.  If you are a blogger, ghost writer or an internet marketer, I highly recommend this event, especially if it is your first time going.

It is free to attend the show, and there is a great deal of information to gather that can help you be more successful with your blog and websites.

There are also a number of very valuable keynote speeches through the EcomXpo University.  I definitely recommend attending these as well as you can learn a great deal from some of the leaders in the industry.

Plus, if you are looking for some interesting and useful topics for blog writing purposes, you are sure to find some here!

Note. last spring I won a trip to Florida and the year before that I won a $200 gift certificate at a spa.  I donated both to charity, but if you win, feel free to keep your prizes!
